‘Let us speak to our son, or else…’: Parliament breach accused Amol’s parents | Aurangabad News

CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: The parents of Amol Shinde, the 22-year-old youth from Latur arrested along with his accomplices in New Delhi for committing a security breach at the Parliament on Friday, threatened to die by suicide if they were not given the chance to speak with their son.
“Our son dreamt of getting recruited into the army and police. He participated in army and police recruitment drives at various places.He tried six times but failed. Whatever he did was out of frustration resulting from unemployment. We should be allowed to speak with our son, or else we will die by suicide,” Amol’s father, Dhanraj, told mediapersons.
Residing in Zari Budruk village in Latur district, Amol’s family consists of his elderly parents, two brothers, and a married sister.
His parents further said that Amol used to perform very well in different physical tests, ranging from marathons to discus throws, shotputs, long jumps, and high jumps, among others.

Despite this, he failed to get in. Seeing his enthusiasm for getting recruited into the forces, his parents even took a loan from a private money lender to purchase some of the articles required for physical fitness, and this was later repaid by them together.
“He even worked as a daily wage worker at a well-digging site and earned Rs5,000. He also took a additional loan of Rs 2,000 for traveling to Delhi on December 9,” said Dhanraj. His parents confided that, of late, their son had been reading and even purchasing books on Bhagat Singh.
All four accused arrested by the Delhi police have been booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) as well as relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code. They are currently in police custody.
