Threat to industrialist Ratan Tata’s life: Suspect an MBA degree-holder from Karnataka | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: The crime branch on Friday traced a 35-year-old man suspected of making a phone call to the police control room and warning about a threat to industrialist Ratan Tata‘s life. The suspect, an MBA degree-holder, was found to be suffering from a mental illness.
The call to the control room was made on Wednesday. The caller demanded enhancement of Tata’s security and warned that failure to do so would result in Tata meeting the same fate as industrialist Cyrus Mistry, who died in anaccident last year.
The police traced the caller to Karnataka. They found he hailed from Pune and had been diagnosed with schizophrenia. His family said he had been missing for five days. He was handed over to the Pune police.
