IAF trial flight lands at new Ayodhya airport | India News


LUCKNOW: A week before its inauguration, an Indian Air Force Boeing 737-700 BBJ made a trial landing at Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Ayodhya airport on Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive at the new airport on December 30.

On December 14, the airport had received DCGA’s licence for commercial operations. It can handle up to eight Airbus 320 or Boeing 737 Max series single-aisle 200-seater aircraft.It is fit to operate at night as well and has a handling capacity of 500 passengers at a time.It will handle international flights in the second phase after its runway is extended to 3,125m from the present 2,200m and a second terminal is constructed.
