Vijayakant was a great example of friendship and deserved to be called ‘Captain,’ Rajnikanth told reporters after paying his last respects to Vijayakant. He said, “Vijayakant was always full of love. That is why he has so many friends who are ready to sacrifice their lives for him.”
“Though he used to get angry with his friends, politicians and even the media, nobody was angry with him because there was always a valid reason behind his anger,” he said.
Kamal said if tags like simplicity, friendship, hard work and gratitude can be used to describe a person, it is Vijayakant. “Right from his initial days, he carried himself the same way even after attaining stardom,” Kamal said.
Kamal said he liked Vijayakant’s humility and anger. “I’m a fan of his anger. I think that could be the reason he entered politics,” Kamal said, hoping that more people will follow his footsteps.
On Friday afternoon, Vijayakant’s mortal remains were taken in a procession to DMDK headquarters in Koyambedu for the last rites.
