Headmistress: Headmistress, 42, kisses boy during school tour, in soup | Bengaluru News

CHINTAMANI: A 42-year-old headmistress of the Government High School, Murugamalla in Chintamani taluk of Chikkaballapur district, has been suspended for allegedly behaving in an inappropriate way with a student during a recent school excursion.
Photographs of the headmistress kissing the boy and cozying up to him went viral on social media Wednesday, following which the boy’s parents rushed to the school and took her to task.
The Chikkaballapur deputy director of public instruction said Chintamani BEO Umadevi visited the school to ascertain the facts and noticed that the headmistress had deleted some of the pictures and videos taken during the excursion. Efforts are being made to retrieve them, he said. Describing the incident as unfortunate, he said the BEO submitted her report on the incident, based on which the headmistress was placed under suspension.
Umadevi said the students and staff of the school went on an educational tour to Horanadu, Dharmasthala, Yana and other places from December 22 to 25, and the said incident allegedly took place then. The photos that went viral were taken by another student. Barring the two students and the headmistress, no other staffer or student was aware of the incident, she added.
According to the DDPI, the headmistress had joined the department as a primary school teacher in 2005 and was later promoted to the high school section in 2015.
