JAIPUR: The Jaipur Municipal Corporation (Greater) bulldozed a portion of a house belonging to one of the killers of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi on Thursday, making this the first UP-like demolition act targeting criminals in the desert state since a BJP government took over this month.
Civic officials said the decision to demolish the Sundar Nagar house of Rohit Rathore, who was arrested days after fatally shooting Gogamedi on December 5, was based on a complaint about encroachment.
Two boundary walls of 30ft each and another 5ft wall were demolished, said Sandhya Yadav, deputy commissioner of vigilance at JMC Greater.
Rohit and his accomplice Nitin Fauji, an Army deserter, were arrested in Chandigarh on December 9 after being on the run for four days. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang hired them for the crime.
