It’s a French festival celebrating American film, but this year, the Hollywood stars who normally grace the Deauville American Film Festival are mostly absent. They’re unable to travel because of the Covid-19 pandemic. So there’s more focus on homegrown French talent. FRANCE 24 film critic Lisa Nesselson has been attending the event since 1994.
