In the past 24 hours, 36 COVID-19 patients passed away in Lebanon and 2,932 others underwent recovery, which raises the total number of virus-related fatalities in the country to 6,995 and that of full recoveries to 432,548.
This puts active cases at 73,463 of the cumulative number of infections confirmed in Lebanon since the beginning of the pandemic, which is 513,006.
Of the total number of infected individuals, 2,682 are healthcare workers, including 2 who tested positive in the past 24 hours.
In the same period, 19,334 tests to detect the virus were administered in the country, including 16,229 local PCR tests, 2,159 airport PCR tests, 224 PCR tests at border crossings, and 722 antigen tests.
So far, 246,960 people in Lebanon have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 129,913 others have received the second dose, according to the Health Ministry’s data.
Between Monday and Tuesday, the first and second vaccine doses were administered to 9,756 and 3,259 people, respectively.
On Monday, the Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed 995 infections and 34 fatalities.
